Haying Batangan (Lupakan at Awitan)

For the first time, the city government of Batangas conducts Haying Batangan as part of the celebration of Batangas City’s founding anniversary. This is a search for the Best of Batangas City Cuisine like Kalderetang Batangas (goat), Bulanglang, Katutubong Minatamis and Makabagong Matamis na Sinangkapan ng Kape participated in by hotels and food establishments, houwewives, senior citizens and students of food-related courses. Judges are popular chefs and book authors Claude Tayag and Sau del Rosario, and the Cultural Center of the Phlippines Department Manager of the Cultural Exchange Department and a graduate of BS Food Nutrition, Chinggay Bernardo. Haying Batangan opened with the Lupakan and Awitan with the folk songs rendered by the staff of the City Assessor’s Office. The public also partook of the nilupak distributed to them. There also food stalls selling native food and other delicacies.
