Proyekto ng First Gen at local government para sa emergency response pinasinayaan

Pinasinayaan noong September 27 ang Advance Local Emergency Response Team o ALERT building sa barangay Bolbok, isang public-private partnership project(PPP) sa pagitan ng First Gen Corporation at ng pamahalaang lokal na naglalayong agad makaresponde sa mga biktima ng aksidente o kalamidad at maisalba ang maraming buhay.
Ito ay matatagpuan sa Provincial Sports Complex kung saan ang lote ay donasyon ng pamahalaang panlalawigan. Ang pamahalaang lungsod naman ang sasagot sa operational expenses.
Ang naturang gusali na din ang magiging central station ng Bureau of Fire Protection(BFP) habang ang lumang opisina nito sa may Sports Coliseum ay isa na lamang substation.
Pinangunahan nina First Gen Corporation President Giles B. Puno, Fire Director Leonard Banago at SInsp Glenn Salazar ng BFP ang ribbon cutting ceremony.
Isang maikling programa ang isinagawa pagkatapos ng concelebrated mass na pinangunahan ni Archbishop Gilbert Garcera. Binigyang diin ng Arsobispo ang tatlong puntos sa kanyang homiliya. Ito ay “think globally, act locally at live contemplatively. Binati niya ang First Gen sa pagdiriwang nito ng ika-20 taong anibersaryo at pinuri ang “generosity” nito sa komunidad.
Ayon kay Fire Marshall Salazar, ang ALERT ang “kauna-unahang PPP na may ganitong konsepto sa bansa.” Alinsunod aniya sa Republic Act 9514 at RA 10121, kinakailangang mapalakas ang kakayahan ng local units o mga barangay pagdating sa pagbibigay ng emergency medical services.
“Mahalaga ang papel na gagampanan ng ALERT sa pagsagip ng maraming buhay sapagkat ito ang magsisilbing “first line of defense” o rescue team na syang reresponde sa panahon ng emergency. This symbolizes the triad of collaboration sa pagitan ng pamahalaan, business sector at komunidad,” dagdag pa ni Salazar.
Sinabi naman ni Puno na “this is a new concept that we’re proud of and we hope to replicate this project in other parts of the country.”
Ayon kay First Gen Corporation Vice President-External Affairs and Security Ramon J. Araneta, ang naturang proyekto ay isang pagpapatunay ng “bayanihan” system.
Para kay Banago, ang proyektong ALERT ay malaking patunay ng kasabihang “when there is teamwork, success will be achieved” at mapalad aniya ang Batangas City sa pagkakaroon ng mga supportive leaders sa mga ganitong klaseng proyekto.
Dumalo din sa nasabing okasyon sina Mayor Beverley Dimacuha, R4A RD SSupt Sergio Soriano, DP SSupt Rommel Tradio, ARDA Supt Renato Marcial, dating Batangas City BFP Chief Rommel Tradio at Supt. Geranndie Agonos gayundin sina Barangay Captain Anacleto Mendoza ng barangay Bolbok, Pang. Olive Perez ng barangay Sta Rita Aplaya at Pangulong Marcing Ilagan ng Sta Rita Karsada.
Pagkatapos ng inagurasyon, nagkaroon ng Emergency Response Demo at Livelihood Demo ng mga skills training scholars ng First Gen.
