154 drug surrenderers nagtapos sa SIPAG rehab

BATANGAS CITY- May 154 na drug surrenderers sa Batangas City ang nagtapos sa Simula ng Pag-asa Program (SIPAG) na isang 12-week recovery program na inilunsad dito noong June 20 ng taong ito.
Ang SIPAG ay inilunsad sa pakikipagtulungan ng Dangerous Drugs Board at sa partnership ng mga local churches, business sectors, NGOs, PNP at local government units. Ito ay isang faith-based program na naglalayong magkaroon ng spiritual renewal at moral upliftment ang mga drug surrenderers.
Ang mga religious sects na lumahok dito ay ang Good Shepherd Sheep Baptist Church, Christian Baptist, Batangas Christian Baptist Church, Proclaim the Power of God at First Fruit Family Christian Inc.
Sa mensaheng ipinaabot ni PC/Supt. Ma O Aplasca, regional director, PRO 4-A Calabarzon, na binasa ni P/Supt. Alden Delvo, Batangas provincial director, ipinaliwanag niya na ang programa ay parte ng rehabilitasyo ng lahat ng sumukong drug dependents. “Ang programang SIPAG ang magsisilbing paalala na may naghihintay pang bagong buhay, bagong pag-asa, at panibagong simula para sa lahat ng mga dati nang nalulong sa droga,” sabi ni Aplasca.
Nagbigay naman ng patotoo hingil sa kanyang natutunan sa SIPAG program si Ismael Lopez ng Barangay Sampaga. Aniya, malaking pagbabago sa kanyang sarili ang naidulot ng programang ito. “Nagbigay linaw sa aking kaisipan at nagpalambot ng aking puso ang mga pangaral at salita ng mga tao na naging instrumento na ituloy ang aking buhay at makapagbagong buhay.”
Bukod kay Delvo, dumalo rin sa graduation ceremony sina P/Supt. Wildemar Tan Tiu, acting chief ng Batangas City PNP, barangay captains, mga pastor ng ibat-ibang religious sects at kinatawan ni Mayor Beverley Dimacuha na si Edel Perez, senior executive assistant ng Office of the Mayor.
