Unity Walk and Peace Covenant Signing for Safe Election 2019 idinaos

BATANGAS CITY-Bandang 6:00 ng umaga ng magsimula ang Unity Walk sa harap ng Batangas City Police Station ng Team EBD sa pangunguna ni Mayor Beverley Rose Dimacuha kasama ang ilan pang mga kandidato sa pagka konsehal at bokal na tatakbo sa May 13 national at local elections.
Ang Unity Walk and Peace Covenant Signing for Safe Election 2019 ay inisyatibo ng Batangas City Police Station bilang pagpapahayag ng commitment ng mga kandidato na magkaisa sa layuning magkaroon ng mapaya, ligtas, malinis, at maayos na halalan.
Isang programa ang idinaos sa Plaza Mabini kung saan ito ay sinimulan sa pamamagitan ng interfaith prayer nila Rev. Fr. Gerald Macalinao ng Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, Pastor Christopher Arago ng Evangelical religious faith at Imam Ustadz Abdullah Ampaso ng Islamic faith.
Sinabi ni P/Supt. Sancho Celedio, chief ng Batangas City Police Station na bagamat ang lungsod ay hindi kabilang sa listahan ng mga hot spots, inaasahan pa rin nila ang suporta at kooperasyon ng lahat upang maging maayos ang eleksyon dito.
Sa mensaheng ipinaabot ng Batangas City Comelec head na si Atty. Grollen Mar Liwag na kinatawan ni Eva San Jose, asst. election officer, pinaalalahanan niya ang lahat ng mga kandidato na sumunod sa electoral process ng Comlec.
Aniya, ang kampanya sa mga tatakbo sa House of Representative at sa local positions ay sa March 29 hanggang May 11 habang ang para sa senador ay magsisimula sa February 12.
Ang Integrity Pledge ng mga kandidato ay sa harap ni DILG City Director Victoria Amor San Gabriel habang ang Oath of Non-Partisanship ay isinagawa ni PSupt. Celedio at PNP personnel. Bureau of Jail Management and Penology at Bureau of Fire Protection.
Kasunod nito ang Signing of Covenant ng mga kandidato, PNP at Comelec personnel.
