Expert architect/urban planner to shape Batangas City’s development

BATANGAS CITY-The signing of the contract between Mayor Beverley Dimacuha representing the city government and world - renowned architect and urban planner Felino “June”Palafox for Palafox Associates to undertake consultancy services for the review and updating of Batangas City’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan, Integrated Zoning Ordinance, Comprehensive Development Plan and Local Development Investment Program signifies the innovative thrust of the current administration to build a new and better city, one that is progressive, sustainable and resilient.

Palafox  has worked wonders in  the growth and development of other countries , one shining example of which is his masterpiece in Dubai.   His involvement in Batangas City’s development is a welcome change and is expected to transform this city  into a modern and more competitive metropolis.   By the way, it was him who conceptualized  the design of the city’s Plaza Mabini.

This out-of –the-box man    lives by his belief that “corruption kills” and so he aspires to work with people who have the will to make things happen anchored on their honesty and integrity and with the people’s interest in their minds.

In the article published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer on July 8, 2016, it was stated: “ And lilke a lighthouse that guides sailors in the middle of a storm, his firm keeps the following core values: honesty, integrity, professionalism, form and function, business orientation, environmental considerations, elevating the global standing of Filipino professional, spirituality and culture, history and heritage.”

This man subscribes to the idea that growth centers outside Metro Manila shoulde be the trend, thus, his collaboration with the local government units . The review and update  of Zamboanga City’s Comprehensive Development Plan, Land Use Plan and Zoning Ordinance for one  also includes “security by design, tourism planning, transportation planning, disaster preparedness ...”

Palafox’s work is a total package and with this, Batangas City stands to gain much,  with  Mayor Dimacuha and her  partner Congressman Marvey Mariño  leaving a legacy all of us will be truly proud of. Angela J. Banuelos PIO Batangas City
