Christmas kicks off in Batangas City

Christmas ushered in in Batangas City today with the presentation of the Calamba City Band that played Christmas songs at the Amphitheatre in Plaza Mabini with Elmer Ortiz as the conductor at 5:00pm.

The simultaneous lighting of the 30-foot Christmas tree which is more than 10 years old and the rest of Plaza Mabini, the City Hall, the LRDC building and parts of the poblacion followed at 6:00. The Christmas village at the Plaza Mabini and the angels at the balcony of the City Hall are two of the new features of this year’s decoration.

According to the chief of General Services Department, Jocelyn Cantre, their personnel and the suppliers of materials worked together on the concept and came out with this beautiful display.

Secretary to the Mayor RD Dimacuha, Ed Borbon, chief of Tourism Office and vice chairman of the Cultural Affairs Committee and other department heads of the city government attended the Christmas kick-off. (PIO Batangas City)
