Passers sa environmental planner licensure exam kinilala ng city gov’t.

BATANGAS CITY-Binigyan ng Plaque of Recognition ng pamahalaang lungsod ang limang empleyado ng City Planning and Development Office , na nakapasa sa National Environmental Planner Licensure Examination ng Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) noong June 7-8, 2017 sa Metro Manila.
Ang limang passers ay sina City Planning and Development Coordinator Engr.Januario Godoy, Engr. Edgar Festijo, Maria Claret Godoy, Gilda Godoy at Melmarie Molina.
Ayon kay Engr. Godoy, “ang pagkuha ng nasabing licensure examination ay base sa probisyon ng RA10587 o “An Act Regulating the Practice of Environmental Planning Profession in the Philippines” na nilagdaan ni dating Presidente Benigno Simeon Aquino Jr. noong May 27, 2013.
Nakapaloob sa batas na ito na sa loob ng tatlong taon mula sa effectivity nito, hindi na pwedeng mag-appoint ang Mayor ng mga hindi licensed environmental planners bilang pinuno ng Office of Planning and Development, maging national o local. Sa loob naman ng limang taon mula ng ito ay lagdaan ng Presidente hanggang 2018, anag pwede lamang kumuha ng licensure examination ay yuong tapos ng kurso sa development planning, urban planning o city planning o pwede rin namang tapos ng related courses sa environmental planning, may limang taong experience, first grader o professional civil service eligible at may mahigit 80 oras na seminar sa development planning.
Ang nasabing kurso ay pwede lamang kunin sa kasalukuyan sa UP School of Urban and Regional Planning o kaya sa UP Los Baños, Dept. of Community and Environment Resource Planning, College of Human Ecology. Ang kurso ay pwedeng matapos sa loob ng dalawa hanggang tatlong taon. Ang ilang subject matter ng examination na ito ay ang theories, history and principles of planning, legal parameters at mga environmental laws.
Sinasabi ng nasabing batas na ang isang environmental planner ay isang registered at licensed to practice person at holder ng valid certificate of registration at valid professsional ID buhat sa Board of Environmental Planning at PRC.
Ang mga passers ay magiging miyembro ng Philippine Institute of Environmental Planners, Inc. na kinikilala ng PRC at ng national government.
“Ang pagiging licensed environmental planner ay nagangahulugan ng dagdag na competence at kaalaman sa trabaho ,” dagdag pa ni Godoy. (PIO Batangas City)
