PDEA nag surprise drug test sa mga bus drivers sa Grand Terminal

BATANGAS CITY- Nagsagawa ng surprise drug test ang Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency ( PDEA) sa mga bus drivers sa Grand Terminal at isang bus company sa Batangas City kaninang madaling araw ng Lunes, Oct. 28. Ito ay bahagi ng kanilang simultaneous Oplan Harabas o Drug- test- muna bago- pasada campaign sa buong bansa upang maseguro ang kaligtasan ng mga pasahero at maiwasan ang mga aksidente sa kalsada.
Alas tres ng umaga ng magsimulang magsagawa ng mandatory drug test ang PDEA sa may 58 na bus drivers sa teminal kung saan negatibo ang naging resulta. Nag drug test din sila sa mga drivers at empleyado ng Ceres bus company.
Ayon kay Norman Balquiedra investigation agent V, chief ng Plans and Operation Division ng PDEA Region IV-A, “safety ng passengers ang pinaguusapan dito dahil maraming balita na may mga bus drivers ang gumagamit ng drugs kaya maraming aksidente ang nangyayari”.
Ang lahat ng mga nag positive ay ipadadala sa laboratory ng PDEA para sa confirmatory test.
Nagsagawa rin ang PDEA ng K9 sniffing at passenger profiling sa Batangas Port bilnag bahagi ng ng security measures sa pagdagsa ng mga pasaherog pauwi sa kanilnag probinsya sa undas.
Katuwang ng PDEA sa gawaing ito ang Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Ports Authority, Phil. National Police, Land Transportation Authority at iba pang mga ahensiya.
